ABOUT THE MISSION OF "THE JINGLES"
The Jingles®, created and developed by architectural linguist Steve Walker, are a system for muscle training which leads to improved pronunciation of English -- or any other designated target language. The Jingles consist of sets of carefully derived target language gestures that can guide a person toward the development of the speech motor skills necessary to produce target language phonological competency at a level either close to or identical to the pronunciation of native speakers of that language. .
STEVE WALKER'S VISION
To attempt to grasp the essence of any culture other than one’s own is a daunting project. However, there is a means to bridge that gap…. language. Our first efforts to communicate are not through writing or drawing, not through music or mathematics.
They are cries for help, for food, for understanding. The cries we make as babies take form and become language…
The Jingles® were created in response to these cries for help from many people -- most of them adolescents and adults -- here in the 21st Century..
These people have been seeking a means to communicate clearly with other people all over the world. Due to the influence of globalization and the proliferation of so-called "artificial intelligence" (AI), an additional, urgent need for such a system as The Jingles® has arisen. No longer do The Jingles® merely serve as a bridge to span cultural gaps. They now offer protection from the complete takeover of HI ("human intelligence") by AI. By mastering the Jingles®, people can foster mutual understanding and respect among themselves. (This is why Steve Walker favors The Jingles® as the sole system for training humans in the dynamics of phonological reception and production. AI can be used for other tasks -- but should not be allowed to take over flesh-and-blood, biologically-based human language.
If mutual understanding and respect result from the Jingles® -- in a world where human language can remain largely free of AI interventions, then my mission will have been fulfilled.
