The Jingles®, were created and developed by architectural linguist Steve Walker. Steve earned his M.A. in applied linguistics from Michigan State University in 1977. In the ensuing years Steve has developed a theory of architectural linguistics. The popular name for that theory is The Jingles®. Unlike other branches of linguistics -- which seek to characterize various aspects of human language, architectural linguistics provides for the design and construction of target language sound systems (known as allophonomes). The Jingles® consists of a set of carefully arranged target language sound combinations which provide the learner with a means to develop the speech motor skills necessary to produce target language phonological systems with nativelike or near-nativelike expertise.
